Landscapes of Knowledge (Nofei Yeda) is an innovative pilot program of The Faculty of the Humanities at the University of Haifa, due to begin in academic year 2012-13. Nofei Yeda will supplement the current program Path of Knowledge (Dereh Haruah) by offering unique classes that expose university undergraduates to the richness of the humanities as a field of enquiry and as a mode of thought. They are also meant to help university undergraduates develop critical thought, analytical tools, and clear expression abilities, both oral and written.

The program will offer two classes in the first year (academic year 2012-13) and will hopefully expand up to six classes during the third and last year of the pilot. The classes offered will be based on a wide-ranging theme-centered lectures delivered by a group of staff members (3-4) representing different disciplines and approaches. Each class will break up to several small workshops led by instructors and devoted to open discussion, to critical analysis of texts and objects, and to honing reasoned expression abilities. The classes will be developed with new media (in and outside the classroom) in mind, with the help of the Educational Technologies Program at the Faculty of Education.

The program is coordinated by Dr. Zur Shalev with the assistance of Liat Kellerman.
